The difference between the original version and the version is that in the original version (recorded in 2009) the emulator used by the author did not reproduce the original music of the game, being..

So what is different in this [a] version? Your efforts would be better spent on games we don't have rather than redoing older ones unless there is some obvious errors in which case it should be a

Abime IRC Server is down!
Please use irc.elowar.com until the other server works again!
To all longplayers!
Update: Backup restored from 12/04/13.

Unfortunately due to a bug in the "Delete old submissions" script, all the Submission entries that didnt have a YouTube date set were deleted!

They need to be re-entered into the Submission Database!

Luckily i was able to recover a copy of the site before the deletion happend:
http://longplays....
It might help you to find out which entries were deleted! There was a total of 117 that were removed!

Sorry for the inconvenience!
100 Million Views!
Our channel has reached 100 Million views over the weekend!
Lets see if we can reach 1 Billion! Wink
Welcome to the new site!
There might be still some small problems here and there, but those will be fixed eventually.

Update - This should now be fixed, request away! -Password reset is not working atm - be patient, it will be fixed eventually Smile

Now here is the important part - almost 17000 spam bots were deleted from the old database, this meant that some people who also had 0 post were also deleted (collateral damage) and had to be manually readded. If you are one of those people, and you cant login anymore, please contact us on IRC via the chat button on the top!

For everyone else who had posted on the forums before, you should be still able to login! Click on Edit Profile on the left side and set up a new password! - If you still cant login, please use the "Forgot Password" function to generate a new password, but use one that is different from the one before the update! If that doesnt work either, please contact us via IRC Smile
IRC server adress has changed!
NewsThe server irc.projectmage.com has been shutdown!

Please use irc.abime.net from now on Smile

The channel is still #longplays Smile
Account reopened
NewsThanks to JohnX895 who retracted the copyright claim, the channel has now been reopened. All the stolen videos have been set to private until the original authors will agree to them being on our site/channel or if they want them removed!

Stay tuned!
Account closure
NewsFor anyone wondering why our YouTube account has been closed by JohnX895 - the reason is that he did a copyright claim on videos that we posted that were done by him.

Those videos he claimed, were submitted to us by someguy who said he had done those himself, which now turns out wasnt true!

It wasnt JohnX895´s intention to get our account closed, he just wanted his videos removed. He will retract the claims so the account can get reopened - DO NOT HARASS HIM - it wasnt his fault!

We will try to find out which authors did those videos and credit them accordingly, or if they dont want that, remove their videos!
25K YouTube Subscribers! Yay!
MembersYou may be aware that we have reached 25000 subscribers on our YouTube channel.
Thanks to everyone who subscribed! That means a lot to us! We will do our best to keep on providing you the best in longplay entertainment.

And thanks to anyone that's considering subscribing. And thanks to anyone that doesn't want to subscribe. And to anyone vaguely related to someone that has subscribed or may/may not be subscribing in the future.
Or something.
Backup FTP server now available!
HardwareWow! That was fast!

I think we can all give a (gentle) pat on the back to our friend Connor here, who granted us access to his FTP server. Thanks a lot!

Backup server: ftp://cassiopeia.solit.se
User: upload
Password: upload

Our upload page has also been updated with the new information.

Now I know there's quite some backlog that's been piling up, but before you all start uploading your longplays at full speed, bringing the server to its knees, keep in mind that we will only start reviewing your submissions on monday, so take your time, you've got all week-end.
If the upload speed drops, just pause and restart later. Let's be nice and try not to make Connor regret his bold move.

Thanks in advance.

Urgent! Looking for backup ftp space
HardwareHowdy fellow longplayers and viewers!

Our current ftp server is down.
Which means we are dead in the water. People cannot submit new longplays anymore (except for admins who directly publish their own stuff).

While I have no doubt our friend Raidennn will be able to fix the issue with his ftp server, it clearly shows how heavily we depend on a public ftp space to let people contribute to our community.

That means we should find a backup solution, so that we can switch to plan B when the need arises.

What we are looking for is a download and upload space with at least 50 GB of storage and no daily or monthly bandwidth limit. Two different account types would be useful too (one for the uploaders, one for the admins). A temporary solution would be nice, but a long term, reliable solution is what we aim at.

We have the feeling that public sharing services like Mediafire, Rapidshare or Megaupload are not fit for this usage, because they all have bandwidth limits.

If you happen to be able to offer us this service, please contact us by PM or on our IRC channel (any admin will do, ScHlAuChi, Geekmeister, T-0815, Ironclaw, RickyC, Tsunao or me).

Thanks in advance.
Visual Overhaul
ThemesHi everyone!
We thought you'd be happy to see some change around here, so we have made some cosmetic updates. We hope you'll like them. Oh! And we have a new WOL logo hanging up there too! Enjoy!

It was also high time to fix some glitches, so you'll be pleased to know the longplay voting system should now be operational. We are currently working on that timeout that forces you to login again and again. I'm sure you'll notice when it starts working properly. ;-)

Just for good measure, we have thrown in some more enhancements, free of charge. The number of unread personal messages should now appear in the left column, which makes PMs quite a bit more useful. You now have a direct link to our YouTube channel in the top menu. Oh! And while you're looking at the menu, you may notice a link to our online shop that's selling some goodies for you hardcore fans!

If you spot any issue, feel free to tell us in the forum. have fun!

That's it for now. Happy New Year and everything!
