Q: What is this site about?
A: We're making longplays. A longplay is a play-through of a computer or video game, created with the intent of completing it as fully as possible, mainly for the purposes of nostalgia, preservation, and possibly as a walkthrough.

Q: Why should I use this site and not another site with game videos?
A: Main reasons: 1) Videos are not split in multiple parts whenever possible. 2) Videos are encoded with h264/aac codec for small file sizes and best quality. 3) All videos can be downloaded to your computer.

Q; How do I request a longplay?
A: By posting them in our forum. Make sure you post in the proper forum. Keep in mind that longplayers are few and mainly record games they like, so be patient.

Q: How do I record my own longplays?
A: Please refer to the Support section in our forums. Our IRC channel is also a good place to get help from the admins of this site. The required information is also available in the Support section.

Q: How do I play those videos on my computer?
A: Most videos on this site are encoded with h264+aac codec. We recommend VLC Media Player (www.videolan.org).

Q: Are there any recording rules?
A: Please refer to the Submission requirements in the Support section of our forums.

Q: Why are there longplays on YouTube that aren't on this site?
A: Sometimes We're busy. We're working on it. So keep checking the Latest Released section.

Q: Why are there longplays on this site that are NOT on YouTube?
A: There could be several reasons. Either the game is recent and we don't want to run in trouble by publishing it on YouTube, or the video file needs additional processing to play properly on YouTube (which can be a pain for uploaders).

Q: Why are there no Commodore 64 or Amiga longplays on this site?
A: Dedicated websites already cover these systems. Check c64-longplays.de and recordedamigagames.org

Q: What kind of computer/console longplays do you accept?
A: We accept most systems. But we mainly focus on retro gaming.

Q: Should I register on this site?
A: Being registered and logged in gives you several benefits: search movies - post in the forum - upload your own longplays - no ads..

Q: What if I have questions that are not answered here?
A: If you have any questions that aren't answered at this page, first search the forums for answers. If you still can't find the answers, post your question in the forum, or visit our IRC channel. We're always happy to help.

For more details on requirements when submitting longplays, please refer to the FAQ in the Support section of our forums.
