Q: What is this site about?
A: We're making longplays. A longplay is a play-through of a computer or video game, created with the intent of completing it as fully as possible, mainly for the purposes of nostalgia, preservation, and possibly as a walkthrough.

Q: Why should I use this site and not another site with game videos?
A: Some main reasons: 1) Videos are not split in multiple parts (mostly unless quality demands and sizes dictates otherwise...) parts. 2) Videos are encoded with h264/aac codec for small file sizes and awesome quality. 3) All videos can be downloaded to your computer.. and much more..

Q; How do I request a longplay?
A: By posting them in our forum. Create a new thread with subject "Request: gamename'. Also make sure you post in correct forum.

Q: How do I record my own longplays?
A: At this time there is no tutorials how to record games. If you need help we refer to our forum or IRC chat.

Q: How do I play those videos on my computer?
A: Most videos on this site are encoded with h264+aac codec. You can download the required codec from internet. Or you can use VLC Media Player. (www.videolan.org).

Q: How do I download from this site?
A: To download you need to register. It's free and take a minute to signup. You don't need an account if you downloading with bittorrent or watching on Youtube of course.

Q: How can I support this site?
A: By seeding the torrents you downloading, donate money (Paypal), Keep the site active by post comments or why not learn how to record your own longplays?

Q: Are there any recording rules?
A: No cheating!

Q: Who is the user 'Agent' on the site?
A: Agent is a bot posting information about when new longplays have been released.

Q: Why are there longplays on YouTube that aren't on this site?
A: Sometimes We're busy. We're working on it. So keep checking.

Q: Why are there no Commodore 64 or Amiga longplays on this site?
A: Because there is already sites that cover these systems. Check c64-longplays.de and recordedamigagames.org

Q: What kind of computer/console longplays do you accept?
A: We accept most systems. But we mainly focusing on retro gaming.

Q: Should I register on this site?
A: Being registered and logged in gives you several benefits: access to all longplays - search movies - post in the forum - upload your own longplays - no adverts.. Register NOW!

Q: What if I have questions that are not answered here?
A: If you have any questions that aren't answered at this page. Post them in the forum and we might put them on this page.

We only accept .mp4 and .mkv (h264/aac) encoded files. We have no possibility to encode your files. If you need help with encoding. Ask in the forum or join our chat.

Just follow these steps:

1. Its recommended to use emulators that support Re-Recording as they record the players input. If you cant or dont want to use that, use either the emulators direct video output option or use tools like Fraps. Screenrecorderes are not recommended as they have unstable framerates!

2. Record your video in the games original resolution to avoid stretched pixels and blurryness. Another important factor is the framerate, use the original framerate of the game! Do not use filters or other graphical enhancements! Keep the look of the game as original as possible!

3. Record your video in a lossless codec like HuffyYUV, Lagariath or TSCC. Once the video is created edit it with Virtual Dub and save your file again in a lossless format!

4. Encode the source video via Avisynth and Megui to a H264/AAC file and mux them in MKVmerge. Click on the links to download the AVS Script and megui profiles for Audio and Video.

5. Create a screenshot of the movie and a text file with all the details. Download the template here!
